RDD DESTINY’S ACE 1CA sold in our 2002 Cream of the Crop Bull Sale and, in spite of a shoulder injury that first summer while breeding cows, went on to be named ACA National Champion Bull at the 2002 National ChiAngus Show.  Two sons and two daughters have since gone on to claim National Championship status to continue the winning tradition of the “Ace” influence.   From his first four calf crops there has been 362 sons sold through our annual Bull Sale for an average price of $4,042.  Total sales of Ace progeny, from our program alone, will soon well exceed 2 million dollars.  There quite simply has never been a more dominant Show/Performance bull in the history of the breed.   Ace has moved to 128 on YW EPD and nowranks deep into the top 1% of the breed for both weaning & yearling growth EPD.  Search the ACA Database for bulls that can match Ace’s EPD profile and you will find 38 head, 36 of them carry the “RDD” prefix!!    Homozygous black.

RDD ACES IMAGE created quite a stir in our 2007 Cream of the Crop Bull Sale as ½ interest sold for $100,000 to the Image Syndicate, surpassing the previous high seller status established by his daddy in 2002.  Being sired by the legendary Aces Image and out of the dam of National Champion “RDD Wiggles” gives this young gun every right to be a great one.  We never hesitated and used Image heavily for the 2008 crop and anxiously await the arrival of his first progeny.  Semen packages are currently available at a discounted rate through the 2007 Female Sale.  Homozygous Black.

RDD NEW DIRECTION 123N 1CA was the third top selling bull from our 2004 Bull Sale at $10,500 going to Nagel Cattle Co., Springfield, SD.   He posted a REA ratio of 114 and an IMF ratio of 155 making him the #3 IMF bull from the entire 2003 calf crop.   There is no other bull in the entire ACA Database that matches his EPD profile for BW – WW – YW & Milk.  18 sons posted the second high selling sire group in our 2006 Cream of the Crop Bull sale at $4,652.   New Direction has been used heavily in our program on virgin heifers and cows and now with over 400 records posts an average birth ratio of 95.7.  He will deliver calving ease, he will moderate frame, he will improve carcass characteristics for both REA and IMF, he is homozygous black and his calves are easy to look at.  New Direction semen is now availabale through ORIgen www.ORIgenBeef.org.

RDD NEW DIRECTION 1436R 2CA sold as lot 2 in our 2006 Cream of the Crop Bull sale at $20,000 for ½ interest to Lyle and Kim Anderson, White Horse, SD.  A combination of pedigree, structure and overall performance data, which earned him the # 5 spot on our Total Bull Performance Value, made this calf one of our favorites and most heavily sampled bulls from the 2005 calf crop.   His first progeny arrived in 2007 with only fractionally less calving ease than his well proven sire.  At A.I. time we really liked his calves and they appeared to have a tick more performance potential than the New Direction 123N mates.  The 1436R calves did go ahead and wean slightly heavier and we still like them a lot.  Furthermore, expect carcass excellence for both REA and IMF from the 1436R progeny.  1436R was our sire of choice for many of the ChiAngus heifers being offered in the 2007 Female Sale.  Homozygous Black.

RDD TRUMP 18P 1CA was the top selling bull from our 2005 Bull Sale at $24,500 going to Doug & Andrea Corley, Colorado Springs, CO.  ‘Trump’ does a lot of things right from a commercial beef production standpoint.  He is a real “Cowboy’s kind of bull.  Deep bodied, easy fleshing, sound structured, clean jointed, big footed, big testicled, gentle and easy enough on the eye to be a two time Reserve National Champion.   Although  moderate framed by some standards ( 6.4 at 12 months) he still packs a whole lot of performance, 815 lbs. AWW & 1440 lbs. AYW with a 15.22 REA at one year.   The Trump bull calves were the second high selling sire group in the ChiAngus offering in 2007 being outpaced only by his daddy.  Homozygous Black.  Trump semen is now available through ORIgen www.ORIgenB

RDD DESTINY PCA has established himself as one of the all-time elite ChiAngus bulls of the breed.  His sons dominated the front end of our 2002 sale with two of them going on to be named champions at major shows. ‘ACE’ won the National ChiAngus Show in Louisville and “RDD Desperado 1CA” won the Ft. Worth Stock Show.  He consistently sires a little extra “look” with above average disposition, muscle and shape.  He ranks in the top 10% for both weaning & yearling weight EPD.  His daughters have mightily contributed to the continued progress of our program and they offer as much longevity as any sire group in our Herd Bull Battery.    Homozygous black.

RDD POLO 1CA has stood the test of time as a very attractive, low birth bull who continues to hold his own from a performance standpoint. He uniquely combines low birth & maternal value with solid growth ranking in the top 2% for birth weight EPD.  A bonafide heifer bull, his 2005 calf crop posted a birth weight ratio of 95.8 on 115 head.  His sons have averaged $3,386 in our last two bull sales.  “Polo” sires sound, attractive sons & daughters as he combines the Angus sire, ‘Northern Improvement’ with the past Black Hills Stock Show Champion ChiAngus Female, ‘Nautica’.  Homozygous black.

RDD ACES HIGH 6N 1CA was the second top selling bull from our 2004 Bull Sale at $16,500 going to Doug & Andrea Corley, Colorado Springs, CO.  Foster Bros. Farms, Lockney, TX have since acquired a one-third interest in “Aces High”.   Following in his sire’s footsteps, “Aces High” went on to be named the 2004 ACA National Champion ChiAngus Bull.  His progeny dominated the 2007 National Jr. Heifer Show as a daughter was named Grand Champion ChiAngus Female for Payton Stoppel, Russell, Kansas.  Additionally both the Champion and Reserve Champion Bred and Owned Females were Aces High daughters exhibited by Segayle Foster, Lockney, Tx and Jennifer Ann Smith, Marshall, Tx.   Homozygous Black.

RDD SEVEN-FORTY-SEVEN 115N 1CA was the top selling bull from our 2004 Bull Sale at $22,000 going to Ard Ridge Cattle Co., Nancy, KY.  Chi G Cattle Co., Commerce, GA has since purchased a one-third interest in this exciting young herd sire.  He did just about everything you’d want a bull to do in surfacing to the top of our 2003 bull calf crop: 84 lbs. at birth; 812 lbs. at weaning; 1,480 lbs, at yearling with a 14.88 REA & 5.80 IMF and 38.5 cm scrotal.  747’s most notable accomplishment, to date, is siring “RDD Danica” who captured the double purple at the 2006 National Show as she breezed through both the Junior and Open shows.  One half interest in Danica sold at the National Sale for $50,000 making her the most highly valued female in the breed.    Homozygous Black.

RDD MR VRD 105N 1CA also from our 2004 bull sale selling to Danny Coward, Noxapater, MS.  He is a son of the power Angus Sire “Vermilion Dateline 7078,” and his dam is the 1999 North American Junior Show Grand Champion Female, “RDD Tia Maria 2CA.”  Search the ACA Database for bulls that can match his performance EPD profile and you find 6 head and you will also notice they all carry the “RDD” prefix.  A limited number of 105N sons from the 2005 calf crop surfaced as the number one sire group within the CA contemporary group for the traits of AYW, ADG, WDA and our Total Bull Performance Value formula.  Those sons went on to post an average sale price of $4,750 to top the 2006 Bull Sale.    105N will add Horsepower.  He’s homozygous black and semen is available from the owners. 

RDD STRIKER 20P 1CA was the third top selling bull from our 2005 Bull Sale at $12,000 going to long-time customers, MMA ChiAngus, Ltd., Larry, Jamie & Dusty Brown, Kenedy, TX.  ‘Striker’ represents a very unique genetic linage back to the great Jim Tesch donor, T S Edies Pride 2047, the dam of ‘ACE’.  He is sired by ‘ACE’ and out of the maternal sister to ‘ACE’, Teschs Pride 0J6.  She is sired by the very proven Angus sire, S A F Neutron, known for his solid performance & carcass merit.  ‘Striker’ is an extremely long bodied, high performing bull that posted an impressive 4.30 ADG on test and recorded a 16.37 REA at one year of age.  Homozygous Black.

RDD NEW DES. 208 48P 1CA sold as lot 294 in our 2005 Cream of the Crop Bull sale and is now co-owned with Bud Longbrake, Duperee, SD.  Calving ease and maternal pedigree deluxe.  This calf posted some very impressive individual data as he combined a 70# birth , out of a mature cow, combined with a 16+sq. inch REA and a 5.48 IMF score.

RDD NEW DES 208 89P 1CA sold in our 2006 Cream of the Crop Bull sale as lot 61 to Steve Roseland, Seneca, SD.  This young prospect got our attention this fall when his first 23 calves posted birth and weaning ratios of 97.8 & 103.3.  Granted a limited number of progeny, but non-the-less this is potentially the most impressive “spread” bull we have produced.  His sons look impressive in the bull pen and it appears he will transmit just a tick more frame and growth than most calving ease bulls.  We used him again on heifers for the 2007 calf crop and we are anxiously awaiting more data on this young prospect. 

RDD FTR DIRECTION 1655R 1CA sold as lot 12 for $19,000 in our 2006 Cream of the Crop Bull Sale.  He combined a 76# BW with a 17 sq. in. REA while being well balanced in all other areas.  He stems from a productive and powerful pedigree on the bottom side.
