RDD Genetics Ring the Bell at Creekstone Farms Premium Beef

Following is a spreadsheet summarizing some general carcass information on over 2,000 head of customer cattle that were harvested at Creekstone Farms Premium Beef during June, July & August 2007.  The data is compiled from a mix of steers and heifers originating from six different bull customers along with the feeder end of our own production.  Note the consistency from one herd to the other.  More documented data that RDD Genetics Git’R’Done.

Deiter Genetics Excel in Recent Carcass Contests

In our continuing effort to evaluate & document the carcass merit of Deiter Bros. Genetics, we elected to finish the balance of our 2004 calf crop, those that did not make the bull and/or replacement heifer groups. The cattle that make up the information below were predominantly implant free and finished at our home feedlot. The first drafts of cattle were sold to Creekstone Farms Premium Beef, LLC, Arkansas City, KS on their performance grid and we are pleased and proud of the results:

Results of 2002 Pioneer Animal Nutrition Laboratory Steer Feed Test

These results are from the 2002 Pioneer Animal Nutrition Laboratory steer feed test. Steers in this Pioneer test were sourced from long time Deiter Brothers bull customer, Bud Longbrake, Dupress, South Dakota. Angus Hybrid bulls from Deiter Brothers sired all of the steers in this test, out of predominantly Angus and ChiAngus cows.

 
 
   

Deiter Bros. Angus Hybrids Excel in the 2002 and 2003 NWSS Fed Beef Contest.

Deiter Brothers Angus Hybrids continued to excel in the 2002 and 2003 National Western Stock Show Fed Beef Contest. In 2003, Miles Danner, ChiAngus customer from Burwell Nebraska, earned the Champion Producer Division Pen, Reserve Champion Overall Pen, and Reserve Champion Feedlot Division Pen with his Deiter Brothers sired cattle. In 2002, Danner Ranch, Burwell, Nebraska, exhibited both the Grand Champion and Reserve Champion Pens with Deiter-sired cattle.

 
 
   

Cargill Beef Works Carcass Data

In the early 1990s, Deiter Brothers genetics out-performed all cattle in the Cargill "BeefWorks" Carcass Project. In areas of quality, 79 percent of Deiter cattle graded U.S.D.A. Choice, compared to the group average of 53 percent. In yield grade, 96% of the Deiter-bred cattle graded Yield Grade 1 or 2, beating the average by 20 percent!

Nebraska Corn Fed Beef Program

In July 2003, we entered 117 head of home-raised Deiter Brothers steers in the Nebraska Corn-Fed Beef Program, again with outstanding carcass results. Our Deiter Brothers steers had average hot carcass weight of 822 pounds, an average yield grade of 2.58, and average quality grade of U.S.D.A. Choice.
