STEVENSON BENCHMARK N190 was purchased from the Stevenson/Basin Angus program in Montana in 2004.  He posted an amazing %IMF scan of 10.39 and was at the time, and still is the number “1” non-parent Ultrasound IMF EPD bull of the entire breed at +0.93.  We see “Benchmark” as the ‘Future Direction’ son that can further incorporate low birth with exception carcass merit into our program.  His first calf crop has passed the first test on birth weight with an average ratio of 96.8 on 36 head.  We consider him a bonafide heifer bull and have used him heavily on heifers for 2005 & 2006.  The first calves have all we were looking for with top, hip and soundness.  We feel very comfortable that ‘Benchmark’ mated back on our ‘ACE’ and ‘VRD’ daughters; for example, will be a very successful combination. 

“VRD” was used here for the first time for the 2001 calf crop and has been part of the A.I. sire mix ever since.  A lot of Angus bulls come and go and I think, as breeders, we are some times guilty of moving by some rock-solid bulls in search of the next “great one”.  However, we also feel a responsibility to deliver predictable genetics that you can depend on to deliver you the one “trait” that pays the bills and that is still Pay Weight!  The things that VRD does well don’t go out of style.  They are attractive, long bodied, high performing cattle with lots of REA.  The 43 sons in the 2004 Bull Sale averaged $3,993.  Thus far the 27 daughters we have in production have an average weaning weight ratio of 103.2. 

C A Future Direction has consistently delivered low birth cattle that are easy to look. He has had a positive impact on both our hybrid lines as well as the Angus program. His progeny consistently shine at ultrasound time as they combine IMF and REA to a high degree.

G A R Integrity is the $215,000 record seller from the 2004 Gardiner Angus Ranch Production Sale. We've had the most success with this bull in our SimAngus program. He sires very attractive and muscular cattle that are born easily.

Stevenson CE Deluxe 1914 is a bull I think we will all be hearing a lot more about in the near future. His data speaks for itself and he currently ranks as the #4 IMF and #9 $B bull among young sires. He was used in our program and on heifers this past year, based on Darrell Stevenson's recommendations. Darrell describes this bull first of all as having a great mother. 1914 and a maternal brother have both been the top gaining bulls within their contemporary group. Darrell will go on to describe 1914 as a very soung individual with a tick more growth and extension than most Future Direction sons.

MYTTY IN FOCUS was sampled for the first time in our program in 2006. He has been one of the most heavily used Angus bulls in the business the past few years and has earned his incredible EPD profile. The In Focus bulls are in high demand and easy to sell simply because then do so many things well. You can depend on his low birth and then expect cattle that are deep bodied, soft made and easy fleshing. This bull will have a huge impact on the business for a long time.

KCF BENNETT ARCHITECT M299 saw his first use in our program in 2006. Our search for a 1407 son led us to this bull. I love his pedigree with 598 and 6807 on the bottom side. Our Architect calves were born very easily, they weaned in the middle of the pack, but it appears that as we approach yearling data they may have made a move. At this point we like the calves pretty well and I’ll be anxious to get the yearling data compiled. 

DUFF New Edition 6108 is a full brother to the highly touted "New Look" and was the high selling bull from the 2007 Power+Plus Bull Sale. We fully expect New Edition to deliver stellar phenotype in a practical frame size with added muscularity and maternal excellence. Here is a bull that won't compete in the era of "computerized" matings in the race to build numbers, but we are anxiously awaiting our New Edition calves and feel he is an Angus bull that will delivery many of the traits that Angus bulls are supposed to bring to the party.

Bushs Grand Design was added to our program primarily because of his mother who is also the dam of Bushs Money Train. Money Train has had more positive maternal impact on our program than any bull we have ever purchased. Our Grand Design daughters have been a treat to work with, very practical in their mature frame size with high quality udders. They are easy to look at with excellent dispositions.

Morgans Direction is the ABS Featured Future Direction son we felt we needed to add to our AI line up and we've become big Morgans Direction fans with his first calf crop. They are born easily with lots of vigor, they are structurally very pleasing, easy on the eye and at weaning time they have preformed beyond our expectations. Here is an Angus bull that, in our opinion, does a lot of things Angus bulls should do. We full expect his daughters to be outstanding and oh yah, I about forgot to mention he is the #1 REA bull in the entire Angus database. His first 50 calves in our system, used across all breeds, have ratioed 94.3 at birth and 103.1 at weaning. We'll have a stellar set of Morgans Direction bulls for your evaluation in April.

RDDA OVERLOAD was the $20,000 sale topper from our 2005 Cream of the Crop Bull sale selling to Steele Land and Livestock, James Fastert and Mass Farms and considered by many to be one of the very elite Danny Boy sons to sell in the 2005 sale season. His dam is a tremendous Nebraska daughter we purchased from Vermilion Angus. Overload was her first calf and she has since entered our ET program where she has been flushed to Angus, Simmental, and Chi bulls. The first 24 Overload calves in our system have now posted ratios of 95.7 at birth, 104.3 at weaning and look great. They are long bodied and very muscular with great dispositions. Boyd On Target 1083 is one of the true and predictable "Power" bulls available in the Angus population ranking in the top 1% for YW and $F. One of his most popular sons, Stevenson Money Maker, was used heavily in our program for the 2008 calf crop.

SAV 8180 Traveler 004 is visually one of the most impressive Angus bulls you will find. Moderate in his frame and massive in his shape. The 004 bulls were very popular in our 2007 Bull Sale as two of them led off the Angus offering and their sisters are features of our 2007 Cream of the Crop Sale.

Twin Valley Precision E161 has stood the test of time and is highly regarded as one of the great "combination" bulls in the breed. He blends carcass excellence and overall productivity to a very high degree.

Connealy Lead On has been used only sparingly in ET situations in our program but has earned "Rock Solid" status in the ABS line up of high accuracy and highly proven bulls. We've found that Dividend on the bottom side is always a plus. We fully expect the Lead On females to be very productive.

RITO 2V1 OF 2536 1407 undeniably blends two of the most storied and highly respected parents in the history of the breed. Very few bulls in the breed have the genetic ability to combine the "power" (top 1% for WW, YW, $B and $F) along with the "maternal" (top 2% milk) and "carcass" (top 10% $G) the way that 2V1 does.

Lemmon Newsline C804 sired the high $ Angus heifer in our 2007 Female Sale going to Bruce Hill in Michigan. This full brother to New Frontier 095 has been used sparingly in our program but with very positive results.

Basin Franchise P142 is certainly one of the most popular and heavily used Future Direction sons in the business. Available through ORIgen or ABS, this bull combines calving ease, carcass, performance and maternal to a high degree.

Rito 6I6 of 4B20 6807 is another Select Sire legend that has stood the test of time. This bull has seen heavy use for a long time because he does a lot of things right. Calving ease enough for use in heifer programs and a nice balance of all traits has resulted in lots of 6I6 influence across the industry.

Hyline Right Time 338 has been used only in our ET program but has delievered some unbelievable performance for us. Our 338 calves have consistently been massive, deep-bodied, high-performing cattle.

Rita 1I2 of 2536 Rito 6I6 combines the practicality of 6It and the power of 2536 and the result is a son who continues to gain popularity in Angus circles. While maybe not the thickest muscled calves in the Angus population, ours have consistently been structurally very desirable, deep-bodied and high performing.

Bon View New Design 1407 now deceased has already become a breed legend. He has sired sale topping progeny that read like a book for a long time. He will forever have a major impact on the breed through his sons and daughters.
